A popular advice for staying healthy is to drink lots of water. While we spend most of our time trying to make our drinking water pure, we seem to neglect everything about temperature.

If you think that the temperature of the water you drink isn't important, you could be wrong. Cold water is not so good for your body system.When you drink cold water, the following things happen to your body:
1. Digestion is reduced.
When you gulp in a glass or two of ice cold water, you could be doing some wrong to your digestive system. Cold water makes your blood vessels contract and also slows down your body's rate of digestion.

2. It hardens fat.
Have you ever melted some Margarine and then refrigerate it later? If you have you will notice that cold temperature hardens the Margarine back to its normal state. That is almost the same thing that happened to us when we take cold water.

The fats in our body becomes hardened, thereby making it difficult for your to digest fat. This could consequently lead to weight gain in inappropriate places.
3. You could lose a lot more fluids than you want to gain.
You might already know that the temperature inside the body is high and when you drink cold water, the body will strive to regulate the temperature to the normal state and this could lead to loss of energy and consequently loss of fluids and weakness.

Going further, young people should avoid or reduce their intake of cold water in order to avoid complications as they get older. Drink more of warm water instead as it cold help boost metabolism, encourage healthy bowel movements, helps the digestive system and it helps your body to get rid of waste products and toxins more efficiently.
